Our Beautiful Planet

It never ceases to amaze me, all the beauty and wonder of our planet. From the mountains of Slovakia, to the beaches of Greece, to the splendour of the Sahara desert and the grandeur of the Arctic. This alone makes one want to believe in a benevolent God. How could such a creation be the result of a random set of circumstances produced over millions of years? Wouldn't the timeframe of this suggest destruction and decay and the increase of entropy (as one of our laws of physics states)? Yet here we are, miracles in and of ourselves.

The World Wide Web has brought us many fantastic and fascinating images; images of us and our planet, of our people and of strangers who are us. These images have also brought the sadness and despair of children dying in Africa, of bloody wars and the burning of our great forests.

My childhood memories of my homeland manifest an image of a wonderful orange sun setting in the deep blue sea of the Agean, of the image of the wavy, sandy sea bed beaming through the clear blue green water, of the ancient church on the distant mountain top. Greece for me is the most beautiful place on earth, yet I see pictures of other places, wonderous and distant, beautiful and sacred, homelands of other human beings. How wonderful is this Earth of ours, with all of its complexity, diversity, beauty and danger? How silly our we human beings to be fighting over land and artificial borders? How insane are we that we pollute our planet and destroy ourselves in the process?

My new home, Canada, is a wonderful place. Here, people from all the nations of the world live in peace and harmony, side by side, as Canadians. We are an example to the world of how people should respect each other and their views. We are amalgamating the best the world has to offer and becoming truely Canadian and truely citizens of the world. And yet, we are not perfect. Our lakes are being poisoned, our air is becoming unbreathable and our Northern ice is slowly melting forever. Our aboriginal people live and die in poverty, their wisdom and culture are slowly being lost to us and to the world. We, as Canadians, must embrace our aboriginal heritage and give our aboriginal people the means to be included in this society called Canada. They need the right to determine their own future. If we do this, and if we listen to them, truly listen to them, then maybe we can save this wonderful planet of ours for our grandchildren.

I come from the birth place of Democracy. It is not perfect but it is far better than the alternatives. Stand up people, participate in this world, so that we do not lose our democracy to the few rich folks in the back rooms of the shadow government. Let it be known that we will no longer accept inequality, the polluting of our planet, the idiotic wars fought over resources and our children dying in abuse and poverty.

Stand up and speak. Stand up and be a part of the solution, before it is too late!

We have enough wealth to allow all of the 6 or so billion people of this planet to live in prosperity and harmony with eachother and nature. We just have to redistribute this wealth. It is time to do away with this idiotic notion of money and of hording of things to get rich.

For what does it profit a man, or woman, to gain the whole world but lose their soul.

Megan Fox

My wife emailed me this picture of Megan Fox the other day (that's just one of the reasons why I love her so much!).

Now, as far as I know, my wife is heterosexual, but in her email she said, and I quote:
"This girl is so hot and much more sexier than Anelina Jolie. I can't believe that I'm saying this and I'm a woman!"

I'm glad my wife and I have the same taste in women :).

Where do you like to be kissed?
